I thought it was time to update my resume, so that's what you have in front of you.
I spent some time looking at my old resume, and then agonized over writing a new one. Resumes are just so boring.
Then I started thinking about how equally boring it must be for people that have to read them.
So I decided that I would make the process a little more fun for everyone, and put together this little "online resume of awesomeness".
Don't worry, I can be really professional when I need to be. I even own some suits. Actually, I really love to wear suits. Sometimes I think maybe I want to get a professional job so I have an excuse to wear suits more often. Ok, well it's more than that. I really like people. I've been working on my own for a little too long, and now I want to spend my working time around people. Maybe people that are really into fun, doing creative things at work, and the occasional dance party.
I think I would be a really great team leader. You know, a management type position. I have been a CEO for the last 3 or 4 years. Actually I've been self employed, so maybe that title is an exaggeration. But I digress, you can look at the rest of my resume for more details.
Favorite Quote: "I think robots are cooler than real people. "
Hobbies: Riding bikes, Fantasy Football, candy
References: I have some really great references, but I don't want to post them here. It just seems sort of weird to do that. Just send me an email and I'll send them to you.
In 2002 I developed the first ever digital draft board software, called FanDraft.
Over the 8 years I've been in business, the number of units sold looks like this.
I am in control of all areas of operation of the business, which include the design, development, and marketing.
As the business has expanded to offer other
products,
I have started to work with more outside contractors and designers.
This gives me more expertise in various functions of the business, and gives me greater time to focus on the overall operations.
It also gives me more time to focus on going to more music concerts and having fun. This is also a good thing.
Web Manager, Credit Union National Association (CUNA) : Madison, WI (2003-2007)
DUTIES/ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I implemented a complete overhaul of the websites, e-marketing, and upgrade to the community platform.
During my employment at the CUNA Councils the website transitioned from
this(2003) to
this(2007),
the membership of the Council Association grew from 2998 members to 4124 members, and website traffic more than doubled during this time.
I like to think that I partially contributed to this success.
DESCRIPTION:
On several occasions I told fellow employees that this job was the first one I really loved. And it was true.
My boss was incredibly sharp, and I learned a lot about management and business from him.
I was given a huge amount of freedom over the direction of the website, and access to a fantastic web services team that assisted in implementing several of my projects.
There was also really good pudding in the company cafeteria. I don't really even like pudding, but I ate the hell out of that pudding.
Internship, CBS “The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder” : Los Angeles, CA (Winter, 1997)
DUTIES/ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
I was your run of the mill intern, so I did a lot remedial tasks that a Roomba™ can probably do nowadays.
It was a really great experience though. I've found that employers really think it's awesome I did this, and they like to ask questions about it during interviews.
Although I bet most people don't remember Tom Synder any more, so maybe I should stop including this. Actually, even when it was on the air most people hadn't heard of it.
I think the primary viewing demographic was over the age of 85.
DESCRIPTION: Jon Stewart used to guest host on the show before he was famous.
One time I walked in on him in the break room and he was reading a "100 Most Sexy People in Hollywood" issue of People.
I asked him if he was in it, and then it got really uncomfortable. I think he thought I was hitting on him. I also have a funny story about Coolio.
